Please join us in celebration of Black History Month

The Diverse Learner Council (DLC) is a standing committee under the Jahn Local School Council (LSC) that serves to empower families of students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) or 504 plans and advise the LSC. We will meet this Thursday with in-person and virtual options.

A big thank you goes out to each and everyone who played an active role in making this past weekend’s Winter Wonderland a huge success. Whether you participated in pre or post activities, or was in attendance as a vendor or attendee, we appreciate you spending part of your weekend with us. Each month, Family and Community Engagement (FACE) managers from CPS share information at monthly meetings for parents from Title 1 schools like Jahn to then share with their school community. See the latest!

Who wants to have some fun over the next few weeks? Put a husky in your window, bundle up, get outside, and walk around to see how many fellow Jahn Huskies you can find around our neighborhoods.

As we continue to usher in the month of February, I would like to take this opportunity to shine some light on last week's Talent Show.  While I did not get to experience the event, I did hear from students, staff and parents on the wonderful event.  We look forward to hosting more events  where we are able to invite our families into the building.

This weekend Saturday, February 11th from 10am-2pm, our school community and surrounding neighbors get a chance to see Jahn transformed into a magical winter wonderland! Similar to North Pole from years past, join us for pictures with Snow Queen Elsa and other special character guests, faux ice castle forts in the gym, mini golf, curling, winter-themed crafts, a bake sale, food vendors, and activities from local businesses.

Friends of Jahn is so excited to host Winter Wonderland on Saturday, February 11th. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this event a huge success! Read more to sign up to work a volunteer shift, donate supplies, or both.

We are excited that games kicked off on January 23rd! Thank you to Coach Thompson for leading Grades 7/8th and Coach Pac for supporting Grades 5/6th. The league is operated through We Got Game. Go Jahn Huskies!!

As we come to the close of the month of January, we excitedly welcome February with open arms. Before we walk into February, our month concludes tomorrow with our talent show. We are excited to see how our students showcase their talents. Due to the large number of interested students, we had to make adjustments to our programming. We now have two talent shows instead of one. Our Pre-K to 3rd grade students will perform at 8:30 am and our 4th - 8th graders will perform at 1:30 pm. If your schedule still allows you to join us, please do. Our students would love to see you. Again, our apologies for the necessary adjustments.
