As we enter this last week before our Spring Break, I am excited about the past 31 weeks of school.  Since the start of the school year, we have intentionally worked to create an environment where there is  continuous learning and growing.

Our K-5 students will end this week with the celebration titled, “Young Hollywood Red Carpet Dance.” Students are asked to come dressed to impress as themselves or their favorite Hollywood actor or actress.

Your feedback is extremely important. Please take a moment to complete the Family Satisfaction Survey created by our Local School Council. The survey will close this Friday, 3/31.

Almost nine months ago, I joined the Jahn family.  At that time, without any prior knowledge of our institution, I knew that I wanted to provide students with a voice beyond their classrooms.  Although I was sure that outlets would be available in their respective classrooms, it was just something that has been a part of me since I became an educator.  For years, I have reflected on how so many educators assisted me throughout my childhood by providing me a space to be heard.

Thank you for your support, the students were able to attend Annie on broadway and loved the show and the experience!

The fine arts team is pleased to present our Spring Arts Showcase on Thursday, March 23rd from 4:30-6pm. The show will begin with a Visual Arts Showcase on the first and second floors displaying PK-8th Grade student work. The art walk will take place before the show from 4:30-5pm, and performances will begin promptly at 5:15pm.

Ahead of the Spring Showcase, the fine arts team needs help hanging up artwork in the hallways. Please read more to sign up for a shift during that week.

Each month, Family and Community Engagement (FACE) managers from CPS share information at monthly meetings for parents from Title 1 schools like Jahn to then share with their school community. See the latest from what we learned!

The month of March provides us with the opportunity to celebrate Women’s History Month.  While the month was not fully recognized until 1987, women have made significant contributions to society long before then.  I am excited to see how our students celebrate women during this month and beyond.
