Greetings Husky Families
Quarter 1 of learning ended last week and I can not express how appreciative I am on how we continue to grow as a school. As I think about this time last year, I am excited that Jahn chose me to be a part of this family. One thing in particular that makes me proud to be a Husky is that we continue to look for ways to support each and every student who walks through our doors. Knowing who they are and allowing them to express themselves is important. While we build on the academics, you must know that we will continue to make sure that the whole child is represented at Jahn. Building relationships, sharing our communities, and embracing everyone’s identity is essential to that. Thank you for allowing me to serve as the instructional leader here.
As you might recall, our theme for this year is: “Every Child Deserves A Champion.” My daily announcements center around asking our staff and students, “Who is your Champion?” Do not hesitate to ask your children if they have identified a champion in the building.
This week is Report Card Pick-Up, which means parent-teacher conferences. Our Quarter 1 parent-teacher conferences are Thursday, October 26th from noon to 3pm and then from 3:45 to 6 pm. If you have not scheduled an appointment, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
For our FAW teachers, interventionists, diverse learner teachers, and other staff without a homeroom, you can send them an email to make an appointment or just stop by during your time here. We would love to have 100% attendance (in-person or hybrid).
From 3 to 3:30, I will hold my State of Jahn School address. This event will be virtual and recorded for those who can not attend. Information for that event can be found here:
We have a lot of going on for the rest of October and into November. Please note these Upcoming Events to take a look ahead.
Have an amazing week.

The District is hosting a series of five “State of the District” briefings in the coming weeks that will allow members of our school communities to hear about the District’s current successes and challenges, as well as learn about ways they can get involved in helping shape the District’s next strategic plan. Please feel free to use the language below in your upcoming newsletters or other communications with your families to remind them of these opportunities. You can adjust it as needed based on the meeting locations that are most geographically convenient for your school community.
