The Roscoe Village Farmers Market is back every Sunday 8am - 12pm from June 12 - October 9 on the basketball court! Shop local produce and artisanal foods and sign up to volunteer for family-friendly activities at Jahn's table.

Please join us at the candidate forum this Friday June 10th at 3:30-5:00 pm in the school auditorium to meet our final three candidates: Kate Kloepper-James, Derrick Kimbrough, and Melissa Resh. Your opinion matters.

Jahn’s LSC is very excited to announce…we have narrowed down the candidate pool to our final 3 principal candidates! They are: Kate Kloepper-James, Derrick Kimbrough, and Melissa Resh.

We are very pleased to report that we have some fantastic candidates who seem to be a great fit for Jahn!

Last week was a very exciting week in the hiring process - we received a large batch of qualified applicants. The first round of interviews begins early this week. We are looking forward to meeting with our candidates to learn more about them and how they might be the right fit for the next leader of Jahn.

Kindergarten registration is now open for both families who live in the attendance boundary and families that accepted a seat through GoCPS! If you plan to send your child to Jahn for kindergarten, please register them as soon as possible, and preferably by June 1st for planning purposes. Registration will occur in person in the main office with our school clerk, Ms. Margo. Please bring the following documents when you come to register: Photo ID, two proof of address, medical and dental records, birth certificate, IEP (if applicable), and GoCPS offer (if applicable).

Thank you to everyone who attended the staff and family listening sessions last week and shared their vision for the future of our school. We are further seeking input from Jahn staff and families through surveys to support the principal selection process that is currently underway. We are also sharing a timeline so that everyone can get a sense of where we are at in the process.

The fine arts team is pleased to present our Fine Arts and Wellness Festival on Saturday June 4th, 2022  from 10:00am-12:00 pm. The festival will be held outside on the Jahn Playlot and consist of fun physical activities, hands-on visual arts activities, and student performances. 
FAW FESTIVAL ESTE SÁBADO 4 DE JUNIO!!

El equipo de bellas artes se complace en presentar nuestro Festival de Bellas Artes y Bienestar el sábado 4 de junio de 2022 de 10:00 am a 12:00 pm. El festival se llevará a cabo afuera en el patio de recreo de Jahn y consistirá en actividades físicas divertidas, actividades prácticas de artes visuales y actuaciones de los estudiantes.

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) invites you to our family learning event next week on Tuesday, May 24th from 3:15-4:30pm on the Jahn playlot. Play games and activities with Jahn teachers and the Chicago Public Library Lincoln Belmont Branch!

We'll be hosting two Anti-Racism / Anti-Bias speaker sessions on May 23rd and May 31st from 5pm - 6pm, held virtually via Zoom (link in on events calendar). Session #1 will be be a Parent Perspective from Dr. Ursula Ricketts, a parent at Walter Payton High School. Session #2 will be a review and feedback session on a draft Anti-Racism / Anti-Bias curriculum map for SY 2022-2023.
