Nina Rodkey
Hi! My name is Nina Rodkey. In 2004, I received my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. In 2012, I went on to obtain my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in ESL. I guess you would consider me a veteran teacher now. I have many years of teaching experience, 16 of those years being at Jahn. I am very passionate about multicultural literature. I have learned when students see themselves in a text, they are more likely to engage in the material. My hope is that all of my students find a love for reading, continuing outside of the classroom and into their daily lives.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. Although my three daughters consume most of my social life, some of my favorite activities include shopping, going to the movies, eating at restaurants, traveling and practicing my Spanish whenever I am given the opportunity.
