Principal Message - January 21st

Greetings Husky Families

This week we would like to take a moment to acknowledge the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Dr. King was an American Baptist minister, activist, and political philosopher who was one of the most prominent leaders in the Civil Rights movement.  While he is probably easily recognized for his 1963  “I Have a Dream” speech, Dr. King can easily be connected to notable events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Memphis Sanitation workers strike, and his Letter from a Birmingham Jail.  This year marks the 39th year that we have observed a federal holiday in honor of him.  We hope you took a moment to learn more about him this past weekend.

While this week is a short one (no school on Monday and Tuesday), we want to take time to welcome our 3rd quarter of learning.  This Friday, report cards for the 2nd quarter will go home with students.

For those who may have missed last Friday’s Koffee with Kimbrough, here is the slide deck:  Koffee With Kimbrough 1.17.25

As always, there are a number of events happening on campus during the month of January.    Please review the monthly calendar sent home or our website for details.

Have an amazing week.
