COVID is no longer a reportable disease within CPS. Staff or students who test positive should follow the respiratory virus guidance:
- General changes now in effect:The isolation period has been updated from 5 days (from symptom date) to 24 hours (from symptom date) and until both are true: fever-free without using fever-reducing medications and symptoms are improving overall. Upon returning to school, it is strongly encouraged to wear a mask for five days.
- If the staff member or student has a fever, is using fever-reducing medication for a fever, and/or is not improving symptoms overall, they should continue to isolate and reach out to their healthcare provider.
- Close contacts will not be individually notified but should monitor for symptoms.
