Principal Message - January 17th

Greetings Husky Families

I hope you and your families are safe and warm during this cold weather.

Welcome to the second week of this second half of our school year.  Due to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and the cold temperatures, this week is extremely short.

First off, a big shout out to our Rad Robots team.  This past weekend, they braved the negative temperatures to compete at the Illinois Sectionals tournament.  The team won an award for demonstrating Core Values and are advancing to the state tournament.  The state tournament will be held at Elgin Community College on Saturday, February 17th.

Just  a few reminders for this week:
  • Tomorrow (Thursday, February 18th) is our Flex day from 3 to 5 pm.
  • Falls OST programming has ended.  The Robotics team will continue practicing for the state tournament starting next week.  New OST programming information will be out soon for our next round of classes.
  • The window for our parent SEL survey has been extended until Friday, January 26th.  Please take a moment to complete the survey:  Parent SEL night survey.
  • Apply for our LSC:  This year is a LSC election year.  Please stop by the main office for an application.  Applications are due February 8th.
  • Please assist us in bringing to life our SEL theme for the month of January.  That goal is Goal Setting/Growth Mindset.
  • During the month of January we are also bringing awareness to mental health and poverty.  My Koffee With Kimbrough series resumed on Thursday, January 11th.  The topic of discussion was:  Bullying:  What is it?  What it is not?  The slide deck for that presentation are located here:  Koffee With Kimbrough Slide Deck 1.10.24
For further details around what’s happening on campus, I encourage you to review the calendar sent home or our website for additional details.

Have an amazing week.

Best,

Dr. Kimbrough
