Greetings Husky Families
As we continue to usher in the month of December, we are fully embracing this month’s SEL theme, which is Dedication. My question daily to our staff and students during morning announcements is “How are you showing dedication?” During this month, I encourage everyone to take time to give to those around you. Even if our giving only consists of a smile. Take time to show your dedication to something.

Progress reports went home last Friday. I hope this mid-quarter check-in provided you and your child with an opportunity to see where they are and what areas, if any, might be in need of improvements. Before the calendar year ends, quarter two will be completed.
On Thursday, I will host my second “Koffee With Kimbrough.” This month’s session will be an open discussion format. I will provide families with updates, ways to support Jahn, and conclude with an open discussion. Later that evening, our Friends of Jahn (FOJ) will host their annual Family Bingo Night. This in-person event will be at the Boys and Girls Club from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. This sounds like a fun-filled evening. I would love to see you there.
Please take a moment to check out what’s happening around the Jahn campus.

School Tours: School tours are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 8:30 am for prospective families. Interested individuals can drop by the school for a quick tour. Please share this information with interested families.
Inclement Weather: Unless there are harsh weather conditions (below 45 degrees, rain or snow), students will remain outside during the morning. As always, staff members will be outside to support student arrival. When the weather conditions are bad, students will enter the building at 7:45 am and remain in the auditorium with their classroom until 8 am. With the change of weather, we encourage students to dress accordingly.
ABAR Workgroup: Our Anti-Bias/Anti-Racist (ABAR) workgroup is looking for parent members. Our workgroup is currently developing a scope and sequence and a calendar of events that are culturally relevant and represent our diverse school community. Please reach out to the school to learn more or to express your interest.
School Fees: Our Local School Council approved student fees for this year of $75 per student (with a maximum of three students per family). School fees will be used to cover supplies, books, and SEL activities. Students in Pre-K are not required to pay fees, but can donate an amount, if they choose.
