Greetings Husky Families
This week marks the end of our first quarter of learning. To say the least, it’s been a great start to what I am already declaring a great year. In an effort to make this year even greater, I will be asking you in the coming weeks about your child’s experience. Personally, I feel like we only get better through reflection and feedback. Hearing from you about our “glows” and “grows” will only make us better. My aim is to not only make your child’s learning experience great, but also do the same for you. Be on the lookout for a survey where your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
While our first quarter ends this week, our parent/teacher conferences are not until Monday, November 21st. These conferences can be scheduled either in person or virtually. Stay turned for additional information on how you will be able to conference with your child’s teacher.
This past weekend was a learning experience for me. I had the chance to attend my first Pumpkin Patch. I must tell you, I can not wait to attend the event next year. Who would have imagined that our playlot would be transformed into an area that met the needs of individuals of all ages. There was something for everyone. I had a ball! Please take a moment to thank the numerous volunteers and our Friends of Jahn for truly bringing “3149” to life.
This week is Anti-bullying week at Jahn. Please take a moment to check out the announcement here for a reminder of the activities for the week.
LSC Community Representative: We are still in search of an additional community representative for our local school council. If interested, please pick up an application from our main office. Application will be available until Wednesday, November 2nd.
ABAR Workgroup: Our Anti-Bias/Anti-Racist(ABAR) workgroup is looking for parent members. Our workgroup is currently developing a scope and sequence and calendar of events that are culturally relevant and represent our diverse school community. Please reach out to the school to learn more or to express your interest.
School Fees: Our Local School Council approved student fees for this year of $75 per student (with a maximum of three students per family). School fees will be used to cover supplies, books, and SEL activities. Students in Pre-K are not required to pay fees, but can donate an amount, if they choose.
